Easy Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins

Looking for an easy banana chocolate chip muffin recipe that's soft, fluffy, and actually tastes good? You've come to the right place! I've tried so many muffin recipes over the years, some with bananas, some without and I always seem to run into the same problem. They're either too plain, way too sweet, or really dry.
One rainy day, I was in the mood to bake and decided to experiment with baking. Voila! These easy banana chocolate chip muffins quickly became one of my favourites and my family.
Even if you're not usually a fan of banana desserts, this recipe might surprise you. The bananas keep the muffins moist, while the chocolate chips add just the right amount of sweetness. I made mine in mini muffin form, making them perfect for school lunches, after-school snacks, or a quick treat for my swim races.

Ingredients
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup mashed bananas (about 3 medium bananas)
- 1 large egg
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ cup milk chocolate chips
Instructions
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a muffin tin or lightly grease the pan.
Step 2
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir in the chocolate chips so they're evenly distributed throughout the batter.
Step 3
In a separate bowl, combine the sugar, mashed bananas, egg, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract.
Step 4
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently stir until everything is just combined. Be careful not to overmix because the secret to fluffy muffins is keeping the batter light!
Step 5
Spoon the batter into your prepared muffin tin. Bake for 18–20 minutes.
Step 6
Let the muffins cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before removing them. Then grab one (or two!) and enjoy.
