By Mauve Juliette Summer is loading! Everyone loves summer: pool parties, endless days in the sun, beach trips, and vacations. It's one of the best times of the year. But you know the last thing you want to get? A sunburn. Sunburns sting, burn, peel, and can make your whole summer feel ruined. The good news? They're mostly preventable. One word: sunscreen. Wearing sunscreen every day helps protect your skin from harmful UV rays that can cause sunburn, aging, and skin damage. But when you walk into a store or scroll through Sephora, there are so many options. Which sunscreen actually works? Which ones are worth your money? I've tested quite a few, and these are my top sunscreen picks for tweens and teens. By Mauve Juliette Let's be honest, not every single thing we buy is super extraordinary. And I’m not going to gatekeep this stuff because I don’t want you to waste your money on some bad product! So today you are going to find out which beauty product is actually good, using my rating system so you can see if it’s worth it or not. Here is my rating system: 5/5 = Really good: you should try this beauty product 4/5 = Pretty good but not perfect   3/5 = Average: works okay, but nothing special 2/5 = Not great :I wouldn’t really recommend it 1/5 = Really bad: did not work for me at all Milk Makeup Jelly Blush I know some people are going to hate me for this but honestly, it rips easily and sometimes you can get little flakes of the product on my face! Summer Survival Tips for Tweens: Sunscreen, and Other Basics

Image
By Mauve Juliette Don’t get me wrong, summer is so much fun. Pool days, hanging out with friends, no school... what’s not to love? But let's be real..the heat, sweat, dehydration, and sunburns can make summer a lot less fun. In this post, I am sharing my favourite summer survival tips for tweens, including ways to stay cool, hydrated, and protected from the sun using products you can find at the drugstore. 1. Why Sunscreen is so important during the summer Yes, I know it’s obvious, but seriously don’t skip sunscreen even on cloudy days. It's not just for beach days. If you're outside you need it. I really like Sun Bum. It smells good and works super well. Just remember to reapply every 2 hours, especially if you’re swimming or sweating. No one wants to deal with lobster skin. Trust me I have gotten really bad sunburn once. It does not feel good. Don’t risk it. You can read my reviews on the latest sunscreens here . 2. Stay Hydrated Okay, this one’s a MUST . D...

Best Face Washes for Kids and Tweens: Sephora vs Drugstore Picks

Image
By Mauve Juliette Let’s be real, Sephora is kind of a magical place, but not every face wash has to be expensive. I’ve tested few popular cleansers for kids and tweens to see which ones are gentle, and worth buying. Ever Eden is one of the first face washes I ever used. It’s super gentle, smells nice, and it’s made just for kids. I think it’s great for ages 7 to 9 when you're just getting into skincare. It helps you feel clean and confident (especially if you're starting to notice a few breakouts). But once you hit around 10 or 11, your skin changes, and you might need something stronger. Oh, and yes, it is from Sephora! Next up is Drunk Elephant —I KNOW, it’s kinda scary to try at first because people say it’s too strong for kids. When I was 10, I actually had a good experience with it! It didn’t hurt my skin, and it made my face feel super clean. I wouldn’t recommend it for kids under 10. You can find many Drunk Elephant products at Sephora too Believe it or not s...
