Beauty Product Reviews: Viral Beauty Products That Didn’t Work for Me

Viral beauty products that did not work for me

By Mauve Juliette van Marle

Let's be honest, not every single thing we buy is super extraordinary. And I’m not going to gatekeep this stuff because I don’t want you to waste your money on some bad product! So today you are going to find out which beauty product is actually good, using my rating system so you can see if it’s worth it or not.

Here is my rating system:

  • 5/5 = Really good: you should try this beauty product
  • 4/5 = Pretty good but not perfect
  • 3/5 = Average: works okay, but nothing special
  • 2/5 = Not great :I wouldn’t really recommend it
  • 1/5 = Really bad: did not work for me at all

Milk Makeup Jelly Blush

I know some people are going to hate me for this but honestly, it rips easily and sometimes you can get little flakes of the product on my face! It was not really for me but some people love it. But it also lasted a long time. My rating: 3/5

A lot of people like this but honestly it’s nothing special. This is not my favorite product because it doesn't really help my skin, and plus it smells like chlorine which is not my favorite smell. In conclusion it will always be in this spot, because it’s just not that good for me. My rating: 3/5

E.l.f Power Grip Primer

Some people love this and literally stand by it, but there's another side of the story. The hack of how if you put it on a fork would stick to your face was FAKE! I have tried so hard to like this but no matter what it feels bad on my skin and just kinda makes me want to rip it off of my skin. My Rating: 2/5

E.l.f Glow Reviver Lip Oil

I have been hypnotised from social media to buy this!!! It feels like olive oil on your lips, and dehydrates it! If i had one word to describe this it would be FAKE! When you see it at a store you feel so convinced to buy it but in the end this lip oil makes me feel more disgusted by the minute I put it on!  My Rating: 1/5

Final Thoughts

But let’s be real. We all sometimes get convinced by social media to buy something that ends up being super hyped or just not good at all. But we all have different opinions and like different things and that’s okay.
